Nu när jag har mina nya (underbara) skates så vill jag ju skydda dem!
Jag hade inga toeguards på under bootcampet i Borlänge och hann få lite slitningar på färgen, så inför gårdagens träning med VSTRD så tog jag ändå på ett par rubber toecaps.

Det är inte många som gillar dessa toecaps och jag kan förstå varför. De vill gärna glida åt sidan, de klämmer tårna och ”knappen” man sätter fast dem med mosar rakt ner på stortårna. Så igår (men lite hjälp av Lars Mustasch) så moddade jag om dem!

Jag har Bonts i storlek US2. Så ni kan kanske räkna ut att jag har rätt små tår, tack och lov så passar toecapen över mina tår, men efter att knappen mosat sönder mina stortår under hela träningen så tog jag bort knapparna helt med en tång.

Vi borrade två nya hål vid sidan om (att dra snörena igenom) samt ett hål på sidan, så jag når den lilla skruven jag skruvar fast mina toestops med 🙂 Så nu sitter de på ordentligt! Och fördelen med dessa är ju att de är ganska tåliga, de skyddar ganska bra för smällar mot tårna, plus att de är i gummi, ett yaay för att slippa använda läder! 🙂

Now, when I’ve got my new (lovely) skates, I want to protect them!
I did’nt have any toeguards on during the bootcamp in Borlänge, and my boots got some marks, so before yesterdays derby practice I put a pair of rubber toecaps on.

The rubber toecaps aren’t that popular and I can see why. They won’t stay in place, they squish your toes together and the ”button” who holds them in place is large, and keeps pressing down on your big toes.  So yesterday (with a little help from Lars Mustasch) I made some changes on them!

I’ve got Bonts, size US2. So you can probably understand I’ve got really tiny feet, thank god the rubber toecaps fits my tiny toes, but after a full derby practice with the ”buttons” crushing my big toes, I removed them.

We drilled two new holes at the sides (to pull the shoelaces through) plus a hole on the side so I can reach tightening my toestops. So now they really stay in place! And the pros with the rubber toecaps is that they are very durable, they protect my toes, plus they are made out of rubber, a yaay for having to use leather! 🙂
